Chanlyn Martin

Chanlyn Martin is a student at Taft Union High School, where she also takes college-level courses through Taft College. This summer, she was selected for a competitive internship with Chevron—an achievement she’s especially proud of.

She was inspired to become a Maid of Petroleum after growing up watching the Oildorado celebrations and now looks forward to being that same role model for younger girls in the community.

Her favorite Oildorado memory includes watching the Wooden Nickel Gang, the shootouts, and sipping homestyle root beer from the Oildorado store.

Chanlyn is involved in Human Element, ASB, and Oil Tech. She is also a tri-sport athlete. After graduation, she plans to attend Taft College before transferring to a four-year university such as Cal Poly SLO, CSULB, or CSUN.
