Julia Farewell is a sophomore at Taft College, majoring in English. She’s passionate about exploring diverse perspectives through literature and hopes to inspire others to appreciate its value.
Over the past six years, Julia has participated in seven sports and seven clubs, holding leadership roles in four. She has maintained strong academics, graduating high school with a 3.5 GPA and currently holding a 4.0 in college.
She joined the Maids of Petroleum to build meaningful connections and be part of a tradition deeply rooted in Taft’s history. Becoming Oildorado Queen would allow her to grow personally and continue advocating for her community.
Born during Oildorado week, Julia considers herself an “Oildorado baby.” Her favorite memories include watching the Maids perform at her elementary school and seeing the town come alive with celebration.
Julia once lived in a small town in Alaska, where she experienced endless summer daylight and moose in the yard. She enjoys journaling, scrapbooking, studying her Bible, and playing pickleball and tennis. She plans to transfer to a four-year university to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and become a high school English teacher.
She thanks her mom for her constant support and the Rotary Club for the opportunity to embody the spirit of “Service Above Self.”
